What will be the outlook for Cambodia’s economy in the coming year?
On September 16, 2021, through the remarks under the presidency H.E Suy Sem Minister of Ministry of Mines and Energy of the Kingdom of Cambodia has stated that, according to the latest IMF projection, Cambodia Economic outlook is anticipated to rebound in the next year and forecasted at 6.9% in 2025.
The speech of H.E Suy Sem has been made in the 15th East Asia Summit Energy Ministers Meeting under the session on “Cambodia’s Energy Transition plans, policies, challenges and efforts towards decarbonization” via virtual meeting.
He also stated that if we consider this IMF estimate, we could expect rapid electricity demand growth again to rebound to the pre-COVID-19 level or even higher.
His Excellency Suy Sem continued to ask for strong attention and active participation from all ASEAN countries to execute the ASEAN Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation 2021-2025.
