He stressed the importance of the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific (AOIP) and urged the EU and its members to continue working with ASEAN to ensure ASEAN Centrality, which is key to an open, inclusive, multipolar and rules-based Indo-Pacific. He also emphasised the need to promote the synergy and complementarity between AOIP’s four areas of cooperation and the seven priorities of the EU’s Strategy on Cooperation in the Indo-Pacific.
