Cambodia’s fourth dose of COVID-19 vaccine underway as fully population reaches 85percent
According to the government, about 90% of Cambodia’s 16 million people have received at least one dose of vaccination, with over 85% receiving a second dose and over 27% receiving a third dose.
On his Facebook page, Samdach Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen urged all Cambodians to get completely vaccinated, including a booster, because it is the only way to protect their families and communities from COVID-19.
Since the pandemic began, Cambodia has registered 120,796 cases, 3,015 deaths, and 343 Omicron infections. Community infections were found in 64 of them.
Cambodia’s initiatives in the upcoming Chairmanship 2022 have the full backing of the ASEAN Secretariat
Khmer Times- Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dato Lim Jock Hoi, has voiced his full support for all Cambodia’s initiatives as the ASEAN Chair this year.
He said “We support Cambodia’s chairmanship of ASEAN. We will work closely and fully with the ASEAN Chair,” after the meeting between the Cambodian Prime Minister and the ASEAN Secretary-General at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh this morning.
In the meeting, Minister Attached to Prime Minister Hun Sen, Kao Kim Hourn កៅ គឹមហួន pointed out, both sides discussed a number of key issues, including the Myanmar crisis, the South China Sea issue, the ASEAN Outlook on Indo-Pacific, Timor-Leste’s membership of ASEAN, and beyond.
The discussion also touched on the implementation of ASEAN Travel Corridor and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) which entered into force on January 1st.
