The Kingdom of Cambodia and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam have signed seven important documents to boost their bilateral cooperation.
The signing ceremony took place under the presidency of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia and visiting President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam H.E. Nguyen Xuan Phuc, following their bilateral meeting here at the Peace Palace this morning.
The newly signed documents include the Cooperation Plans 2022 between the Cambodian Ministry of Interior and the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security, and between the Ministries of National Defence of both countries; Minutes of the 19th Meeting of the Cambodia-Vietnam Joint Commission on Economic, Cultural, Scientific and Technological Cooperation; Minutes of the Cambodia-Vietnam Joint Border Commission Meeting; Memorandum of Understanding on Education Cooperation 2021-2025; Memorandum of Understanding on completion of negotiations on Border Trade Agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; and Action Plan for 2022-2023 between the Ministries of Justice of the two nations.
H.E. Nguyen Xuan Phuc arrived in Phnom Penh this morning for a two-day state visit. He was warmly received in an official welcoming ceremony hosted by His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, at the Royal Palace. After that, he was granted separate royal audience by His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen-Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk.
This afternoon, he is scheduled to lay wreath at the Independence Monument and the basket of flowers to the Monument of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Norodom Sihanouk, the late King-Father of Cambodia “PREAH BOROM RATANAK KAUDH”.
H.E. Nguyen Xuan Phuc will receive separate courtesy calls by Samdech Vibol Sena Pheakdei Say Chhum, President of the Senate, and Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly.
H.E. Nguyen Xuan Phuc will also preside over the Ground Breaking Ceremony of the new administrative building of the National Assembly with Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin.
