Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen had a bilateral meeting with Chinese premier Li Keqiang via video conference on Monday to announce the enforcement of the Cambodia-China free trade agreement. Alongside the meeting, China guaranteed 500 scholarships to Cambodian students to study in China for the academic year 2022-2023. It is worth noting that 1,707 Cambodian students are currently studying in China, and only 51 of them are studying physically and others 1,656 are studying remotely in Cambodia. Moreover, Chinese premier Li Keqiang has pledged to deliver more vaccines to the Cambodian government to combat Covid-19, stated during the meeting with PM Hun Sen. China is the largest vaccine supplier to Cambodia, with about 30 million doses of Covid-19, followed by the World Health Organization through the COVAX Facility, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States.
