Fumio Kishida considers additionally and temporary acting as Foreign Minister
(Reuters) On Thursday, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida stated that he might take on more responsibilities as a foreign minister until a new cabinet is formed, as the incumbent foreign minister, Toshimitsu Motegi, is due to take over a key ruling party position.
The Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) will hold an executive board meeting later on Thursday to confirm that appointment. During this waiting time, Kishida may also serve as foreign minister until a new cabinet is appointed.
On the 10th of November, the Japanese parliament will hold a special session to affirm Kishida as Prime Minister, during which he is expected to name a new cabinet.
