Cambodia first time to host EAS conference on Maritime Security Cooperation

According to the ministry of information, the 7th East Asia Summit Conference on Maritime Security Cooperation 2021, themed “Creating a New Decade for the Well-Being of Human, Ocean, and Economy,” will be held in Preah Sihanouk province from December 1-2.

The conference will feature a number of high-profile speakers who will discuss development, conservation, sustainable marine management, green economy management, and scientific research. Moreover, it includes the ministerial conference to plan out marine protection and development from 2021 to 2030, considering the health of the oceans, people, and economy; and action planning for the member nations’ sub-national administrations.

It is important to note that every three years, the East Asia Summit Conference on Maritime Security Cooperation brings together eleven country partners, including Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Japan, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, North Korea, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam, as well as a number of partner organizations.
