Guest Speaker: Dr Chheang Vannarith, the President of the Asian Vision Institute (AVI)
This year, Cambodia starts holding a chairing position of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) with commitments to boosting unity and addressing contemporary issues both regionally and internationally. In response to this, the Kingdom has set a theme “ASEAN ACT – “Addressing Challenges Together”, encouraging positive and peaceful dialogues between member states to push for further cooperation and integration within the bloc and beyond. Despite of difficulty related to the public health crisis of COVID-19 pandemic, Cambodia successfully hosted the very first major ASEAN meeting, the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Retreat (AMM Retreat) on 16-17 February 2022 in Phnom Penh, under the name of ASEAN Chairmanship 2022.
For the sake of comprehensive understanding of the contents and key outcomes of the meeting, in the 4th episode of the Asian Vision Dialogue, we meet with Dr. Chheang Vannarith the President of the Asian Vision Institute to ask for his insights related to the recent AMM Retreat.
