Cambodia Re-Opens E-Visa for Tourists and Investors
On 19th October, the Cambodian government announced its plan to reopen e-visas for travellers wishing to enter Cambodia. Despite e-visa reopening, Visa on Arrival is not available back yet. It is worth noticing that the government has previously imposed new health measures as entry requirements such as mandatory negative PCR test results within 72 hours, a vaccinate certificate, and quarantine. For vaccinated travellers, their quarantine period is shortened to seven days with a $1000 deposit to cover the cost of their stay during the quarantine period. Department of Immigration spokesman General Keo Vannthan also added that following health guidelines, Cambodia has allowed entry for visa waiver countries and planned to reopen borders with nearby countries. The decision by the government is seen as a “good market strategy” and a good sign to encourage airlines to fly to Cambodia, said Chhay Sivlin, President of Cambodia Association of Travel Agent.
