Japan to provide loan and grant aid for Cambodia

On 11th October 2021, His Excellency Prak Sokhonn Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and His Excellency Mikami Masahiro, Ambassador of Japan to the Kingdom of Cambodia, have signed the Exchange of Notes and other related documents on the provision of loan and grant aid from the Japanese Government.

The loan is in total amount of 6.336 million Japanese Yen approximately USD 57.6 million for “Siem Reap Water Supply Expansion Project (Phase II)” and grant aid for 5 development projects, consist up to 1600 million Japanese Yen approximately USD 14.5 million for “Economic and Social Development Programmes”.

The mentioned loan and grant aid provided by Japanese Government is a crucial contribution to economic and social development in Cambodia and at the same time fostering bilateral relations between both countries.
